About the role Mater Foundation’s Fundraising Support team is looking for a Data Analyst to join them in a new role on a temporary full time contract until 26 June 2020. Mater Foundation is the community-based fundraising organisation that supports the work of Mater Health, Mater Education and Mater Research. Mater Foundation raises funds through a wide range of different programs to help support Mater’s provision of exceptional health care, education and investment in world-leading medical research. Salary range: $ 72,724 - $80,152 per annum plus superannuation and the opportunity to increase your take home pay with our salary packaging options What you’ll be doing The primary role will be to work with the wider Lotteries Operating Platform project team and Mater Data & Analytics team to extract and analyse data to support the Lottery Operating Platform project deliverables. The primary focus is on analysing and cleansing the data in the existing database ready for migration to the newly developed lottery operating platform. This role will assist the Data Management Specialist to extract, analyse, cleanse, identify data quality issues and facilitate a major data clean-up followed by assisting the migration process. This role will also work alongside the Data Projects team to ensure business use of data is kept at the forefront at all times. The Data Analyst will contribute to the success of the project by assisting with the analysis of potential data issues and data quality clean up for the transfer of data between the legacy system (Client/Server based upon SQL Server 2012) into the new SaaS environment based. The role will be responsible for the analysis of the legacy system (currently not documented), assisting in the design, data cleansing, data investigations and possibly the mapping and migration into the new SaaS environment. About you To be successful in this role you must have:

  • Tertiary qualification in an IT or related discipline or equivalent commercial experience is required
  • Certification or significant relevant experience in Microsoft SQL Server
  • 1+ years IT experience within a service focussed team
  • High level competency with Transact SQL scripting
  • Experience in ETL tools development using SQL Server Integration Services is desirable
  • Experience in data analysis and investigation
  • Experience in creating automated test cases for testing of the data migration is highly desirable
  • A demonstrated ability to liaise and negotiate with all levels of staff and people in a wide range of business and community settings and the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships across the Foundation and with Mater IT
  • The ability to diagnose data-related issues, propose and develop resolutions that meet the needs of all stakeholders
  • The ability to plan and organise work tasks to ensure timely completion of tasks
