Period of employment / Hours:
Fixed term full-time day work (part-time hours may be considered by negotiation) commencing ASAP until 21 January 2022.

Please note: Other fixed term full-time and part-time vacancies, that may arise in the near future may also be filled from this selection process.

Children & Youth Services - Child Safety Service - North West (Located in Burnie)

Duties:
Primary Purpose / Focus :
Provide high level administrative support for Child Safety teams including the management of some client information, and coordination of service schedules. Manage and coordinate the administrative functioning of teams and ensure the efficient flow of information and correspondence. Coordinate a range of client related administrative services within the teams and undertake specific projects as required.

Selection criteria includes:
A strong knowledge of the human services sector, particularly in the area of services to vulnerable families, and an understanding of the administrative issues related to that work.
Sound research skills, including the ability to plan, analyse and interpret information.
Demonstrated ability to organise, set priorities, and meet deadlines, together with a demonstrated capacity to handle a number of tasks concurrently in a demanding environment.

Essential Requirements:
Current Tasmanian Working with Children Registration (Employment type)

The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:

1. Conviction checks in the following areas:
a) crimes of violence
b) sex related offences
c) serious drug offences
d) crimes involving dishonesty
e) serious traffic offences (If Driver's License is an Essential Requirement )
2. Identification check
3. Disciplinary action in previous employment check.
