This Project Planner role has multiple functions, the main purpose of the role is to support capital programs for all clients in the local Region with minimal to no supervision. This position would suite a Graduate Engineer looking to build-on their experience and work towards moving into a Project Management role in the long-term.

The position will initially be a 12-month fixed term contract with the view to permanency.

About the role:
Planning and development:
To liaise with ACT Government authorities, NSW Local Councils, utility infrastructure owners (and their agents), property developers, consulting engineers and landowners regarding all developments that lead to market expansion or modification of the regional gas networks and pipelines.

To maintain relationships with all parties, (internal to Jemena/Zinfra and external, Government and non-government) in the ACT and Region who are involved with short, medium and long term planning of developments that will impact on the gas assets.

To ensure that all developments that have the potential to affect the gas assets are planned with appropriate engineering and risk mitigation protocols.

Projects:
To plan small and medium construction projects from initiation to handover to the delivery team. This planning includes new subdivisions ($3,000,000 to $4,000,000), and pipeline relocations, steel and plactic, ($500,000 to $1,000,000) yearly.
To support project managers in planning large construction projects (>$400,000).

Information:
To assist in the maintenance of a register for proposed Market Expansion projects.
To ensure that all assets are correctly mapped and recorded in various asset databases.
To support the /Capital Programs and Construction team through assistance with CAD requirements.
To maintain records and other business correspondence regarding Capital Programs.

About you:
Post Graduate Engineer or similar construction experience
Understanding of ACT planning and development regulatory environment or ability to learn quickly
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Competence in project estimation.
Basic knowledge of applicable technical codes (AS4645, AS2885) an advantage, but not necessary.
Demonstrated ability to work within a team.
Ability to use CAD software. For mapping submission and project plan drawing

Please note: You must possess a current Australian Driver’s Licence as travel between sites will be required.
