Job Description:
Location of work: Canberra, ACT
Initial contract period: Start ASAP until 30/06/2021 with the possibility of extensions
Security clearance: Baseline Security Clearance (preferred but not essential)
A prominent Federal Government department which provides programs to help communities around Australia recover from natural disasters. They're looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual who possesses well developed verbal and written communication skills, and experience in program delivery including establishing the required governance frameworks and reporting mechanisms for complex government programs.
EL1 - Data and Information Management, including digital access, IP management and data protocols.
The duties of these roles include, but are not limited to:
undertaking research and analysis to inform policy and project development
developing program implementation plans including probity plans, assessment plans and Section plans
developing governance documents that support delivery of the R&A programs activities, including the Adoption and Innovation Hubs, Innovation Grants and other procurements
assisting with developing and proposing policy for government approval
assisting with the design, development and implementation of projects
co-ordinate project management activities
building and maintaining strong relationships with various internal and external stakeholders, with the possibility of representing the department in its interests at cross-agency levels
preparing briefing materials for the minister and departmental executives
What they are looking for
Knowledge and Experience
Demonstrated experience and high level skills in policy development and/or program management and design
Experience in developing and maintaining strong internal and external stakeholder working relationships
Knowledge of drought or agriculture related programs would be an advantage, but not essential
Skills and Capabilities
Strong stakeholder engagement skills to support Whole of Government work and interdepartmental committees; and the ability to see own work in broader strategic government agenda.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and high level of attention to detail with the ability to develop high quality, concise briefing and other documents as well as tailor communications to target audiences.
Resilience in order to thrive in a fast-paced environment and the initiative to work with minimal supervision while still being able to achieve outlined objectives within agreed timeframes
High-level attention to detail
Strong organisational skills with ability to respond flexibly to changing priorities and prioritise work with the capacity to work under pressure.
