About the role
An exciting opportunity currently awaits for an enthusiastic and qualified Statutory Planner to join our team at the City of Boroondara.

Reporting to a Statutory Planning Coordinator, this role supports the delivery of high quality land uses and developments in an organisation that is progressive with a customer first focus. It is a role that requires a strong advocacy and engagement approach to achieve a truly liveable community.

About you
You have knowledge of the Planning and Environment Act, Subdivisions Act and the Planning Scheme and other associated legislation as they relate to land use and development. This is complemented by your relevant experience in applying land use and development concepts in a Local Government (desirable) or similar organisation.

You will bring excellent written and verbal communication skills, including demonstrated ability in writing accurate and comprehensive reports and the preparation of external correspondence.

You have a high level of problem solving, investigative and analytical skills with the ability to deal effectively and diplomatically with conflict, complaints and enquiries. In addition, you have ability to manage personal time, to set priorities and plan and organise own work to efficiently complete tasks or achieve objectives.

You have preferably have a degree in town planning or a relevant discipline and eligibility for membership with the Victorian Planning and Environmental Law Association. Experience at the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal and/or Planning Panels Victoria (or similar) is highly desirable.

Applicants must have the right to work in Australia and a current Victorian Driver License is preferable. Preferred applicants will be required to undergo a National Police Record Check.
