The role:

A fantastic opportunity exists for a highly motivated and passionate sales professional to join The Courier as a Channel Manager, based in Ballarat.

Reporting to the Sales Manager, this role will be responsible for the delivery of advertising revenue across a portfolio of products. The product mix will be from both print and digital products.

The role will be vital in leading Sales Representatives to develop and maintain relationships with the community and advertisers, to sustain the long term commercial viability of mastheads and to maximise all advertising sales opportunities, through providing excellence in products and customer service.

Additionally, the role may be directed, from time to time, to assist multiple titles and operating groups, outside of the main portfolio, as required and directed.

Key responsibilities:

  • Deliver Sales Performance through a culture of coaching.
  • Understand the role the Mastheads have in the community and use marketing strengths that may benefit advertisers.
  • Represent Mastheads in an advertising and digital/print sales capacity.
  • Use strategic programs devised by the Sales Manager to develop community and client engagement in our titles/products
  • Deliver revenue targets. 

The ideal candidate will have the following attributes:

  • Previous experience in a similar role preferably in the media industry.
  • Tertiary qualifications, e.g. Bachelor of Business or similar.
  • Knowledge of coaching models and experience in applying coaching skills in leadership positions.
  • Highly skilled customer service skills and ability to deal effectively with people.
