Our client is a leader in energy, specialising in power generation, energy trading, LPG, electricity, natural gas and solar. And they are on the lookout for an experience Senior Commercial Advisor to join their team in Brisbane.
The Senior Commercial Advisor, alongside the members of the Joint Venture and Commercial team, and a diverse stakeholder group, works to provide dedicated commercial advice and support to help deliver the priority objectives of the Joint Venture & Shareholder team.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and assess commercial and strategic opportunities that are aligned with business priorities and supporting the delivery of those opportunities.
- Coordinate detailed quantitative analysis activities and interpret the data to identify value adding insights and opportunities.
- Conduct data gathering and validation to support the formal legal process in any third-party disputes.
- Prepare, negotiate, finalise and implement commercial agreements that support the organisations (and Joint-Venture) strategic objectives.
- Prepare and present reports and analysis to the corporate office and shareholder commercial representatives.
- Support the Commercial Lead and the General Manager, Joint Venture & Shareholder in the development and implementation of commercial strategy.
- Support the promotion and delivery of strategic objectives and annual plans.
- Maintain compliance with all governance core competencies and training requirements.
To be considered for this position you will possess the following:
- A strong fundamental commercial background and an ability to identify value drivers and create value opportunities.
- A strong understanding of economic modelling / analysis principles and ability to interpret complex economic analysis.
- Have working knowledge of accounting and finance principles, legal frameworks and contract law.
- Have demonstrated commercial advisory experience within the petroleum or resources industry.
- Well-developed communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to collaborate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders at all organisational levels.
- Proven ability to positively influence decisions and outcomes across various organisational levels, including senior management and Board.
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (Commerce, Finance, Science, Engineering, Law or Accounting), or equivalent.
