Directorate overviewThe Vinnies Support Centre Coordinator role is in the Membership, Volunteers and Regional Operations Directorate and is part of the Regional Operations team that is responsible for local implementation of conference engagement; member engagement; volunteer engagement; WE CARE process; regional leadership; community engagement; community needs analysis; and enabling functions coordination.The Vinnies Support Centre provides referral to relevant support services and it has an emergency food pantry for people experiencing disadvantage and are seeking our assistance. A dedicated team of trained client support staff and volunteers deliver services to people we assist. The Role The Vinnies Support Centre Coordinator will oversee all activities at the Centre, in addition to client support services also include: volunteer management and training; networking with the community; and administrative assistance to regional members.The Vinnies Support Centre Coordinator will: ensure that sufficient trained staff and volunteers are available to deliver client services as requiredensure that the food pantry is fully stocked at all times and the Centre complies with WHS and food handling regulationssupport the recruitment, selection and training of volunteers for various roles within the centrework closely with internal stakeholders to ensure that the centre is able to undertake emergency relief activities as neededsupport the Team Leader in growing its membership network; in developing and maintaining quality relationships with government and community agenciesparticipate in community events and local programs to promote the Society's good works. Please click here for a copy of the Position Description.To be successful in this role, you will need: Relevant tertiary qualification/s in social sciences, education, social work, psychology, welfare, health studies or related area.Demonstrated knowledge and skills in assessment within disadvantaged communities and individuals.Experience working with disadvantaged communities.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to effectively lead and develop a team.Experience managing and leading volunteers.Experience in training employees or volunteers.Computer literacy in MS Office, internet, emails and database systems.Effective time management and organisational skills.NSW Driver Licence.
