The Role

As an Associate Director with the world's #1 ranked engineering design firm, you will be exposed to a range of projects and stakeholders providing you with an opportunity to apply your experience on major to mega infrastructure projects. You will work efficiently in an autonomous environment as well as contributing as part of the wider Civil and Infrastructure and AECOM team.

The Independent Certifier’s Representative is responsible for day to day control of major verification projects during the design and construction phases of projects. They ensure all contractual and financial requirements are met and lead teams of people in undertaking project activities accurately and timely. They maintain, and further develop, professional and technical skills to the highest level on all projects they contribute to, or undertake. They also support the development and training of leading edge technical skills and understand how to practically apply them in ways that add value to AECOM and its clients.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage the day to day processes of design and construction verification on major infrastructure projects
  • Be the day to day contact with clients such as RMS, TfNSW, SMC, etc. on major infrastructure projects and ensure their requirements are met
  • Manage a team of up to 20 site Engineers and Surveillance Officers and ensure they carry out their roles responsibly
  • Be the AECOM Project Manager for large projects and ensure delivery of safety, quality, programme and finance requirements
  • Ensure contractual and technical requirements are met and delivered accurately and promptly
  • Manage sub-contractors and Joint venture partners to ensure consistency and safety across all aspects of design and construction verification services on major projects

About You

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering
  • Minimum 15+ years of experience
  • Ability to build, maintain and manage strong client relationships and have worked closely with construction managers 
  • Develop and retain a high level of technical skill
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external parties to ensure maximum benefit is achieved for AECOM from these relationships.
  • Provide high quality technical advice to clients and ensures that the needs of clients are understood and met
  • Create high performing, motivated and engaged teams via Performance Planning, Performance Management, appropriate Reward and Recognition, learning and development opportunities
