The Gas and Green Trading team within our Wholesale Markets division is responsible for managing the supply of gas, gas transport and gas storage while also managing the company’s exposure to the existing and future renewable energy, energy efficiency and carbon markets.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Trading, you will oversee the diverse Gas and Green trading team consisting of several experienced professionals. You’ll be responsible for the execution of strategies designed to maximise EnergyAustralia’s position, as well as driving capability uplift and a vision for the groups’ future.

Key accountabilities for this leadership opportunity include, but are not limited to:

  • Built and lead a strong performing team with genuine purpose and vision
  • Foster a supportive and innovative culture where staff can bring their full selves to work
  • Develop and execute Gas and Green hedging strategies
  • Support submissions on new environmental and carbon schemes and gas market changes with expert advice
  • Internal planning, reporting and governance
  • Management of gas and renewable structured deals to deliver profitable growth to EnergyAustralia’s portfolio.

This is a critical appointment for our business and as such, you will be an exceptional candidate with the following qualifications and significant experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business/Commercial/Management or related discipline. Relevant post Graduate qualifications are desirable
  • Well-developed leadership skills and business acumen, with proven ability to make correct judgement-calls, take timely corrective action and influence others in a climate of significant change
  • Conceptual and analytical thinker, able to take complex problems and provide simple solutions
  • Detailed knowledge of risk management techniques to measure and control risk
  • Developing and maintaining mutually respectful relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
