We are looking for a Clinical Facilitator to join our friendly and progressive nursing education team supporting learning in Primary Health.

Hours/Period of Appointment

Permanent, part time, day work worker position working 38 hours per fortnight in NW Tasmania

Duties

The Registered Nurse - Clinical Facilitator applies nursing expertise and contemporary teaching and learning practice to facilitate the learning of student nurses, nurse preceptors, and extends education support to the nursing workforce according to clinical need.

This role:

• Actively supports positive professional experience placements (PEP) of undergraduate nursing students.
• Conducts assessment of student competence within the nursing discipline under the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) Standards for Practice and implements learning plans to extend student learning in identified areas of need.
• Works collaboratively with the education team and clinical units to provide clinical and education support more broadly when required.
• Models commitment to the values of the nursing profession, including open communication to build respectful relationships across the multidisciplinary team, accountability, integrity, and contribution to positive workplace culture.
• Works in accordance with the strategic direction of the Tasmanian Health Service (THS) and the THS Nursing and Midwifery Strategic Framework.

Essential Requirements

• Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
• The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:

1. Conviction checks in the following areas:

a) Crimes of Violence
b) Sex Related Offences
c) Serious Drug Offences
d) Crimes involving dishonesty

2. Identification check

3. Disciplinary action in previous employment check.

Desirable Requirements

• Progressing towards Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and/or relevant post graduate qualifications.
• More than 4-years' experience as a registered nurse.
• Experience as a preceptor of student nurses.
