CareFlight was founded in 1986 as an aeromedical charity with the mission to save lives, speed recovery and serve the community. Today, we deliver services nationally. Our critical care doctors, paramedics and nurses are specially trained in emergency and trauma, pre-hospital and remote medicine and we use helicopters, jet aircraft, turbo-prop planes and road vehicles to reach and treat patients wherever they are.

We run accredited training for clinical specialists; operate extensive aviation and logistic training for our employees and other organisations; run a range of free education and training programs in regional, rural and remote areas, and partner with emergency service organisations, defence forces and businesses to deliver our expertise.


The role

We currently have an opportunity for casual Aeromedical Logistic Coordinator. You will cover permanent team members during periods of leave fulfilling part of a 24/7 roster. Your shifts will include days, afternoons and nights and will be up to 12 hours in length.

Ideally, you will have the flexibility to provide coverage at reasonably short notice, however as much lead time as possible will be provided; particularly for annual leave assignments.

Coordinating both fixed and rotary-wing missions your key responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Coordinating aeromedical resources in a safe, professional and expedient manner.
  • Maintaining case management records
  • Operating as part of integrated model / effective team

About you

To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • Previous experience working in an aviation or clinical/emergency services environment;
  • the ability to prioritise in a complex multi-disciplinary environment;
  • the ability to work autonomously in a high-pressure work environment;
  • effective interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills;
  • the ability to maintain confidential information;
  • proven IT skills in a range of applications and data entry (including typing skills);
  • the ability to multi-task, strategise and prioritise.

The following will be highly regarded:

  • Prior experience in a patient dispatch or retrieval role (air or road).
  • Prior experience in aircraft operations/scheduling.
  • Hold qualifications in emergency communications and/or logistics.
  • Prior experience working in a command structure.
  • Knowledge of aviation-based systems such as Air Maestro or similar.
  • Experience maximising commercial opportunities and attracting new clients through positive user experience and relationship building.
