About us:

Located in Bassendean, Mercury Metal Products fabricates a variety of custom-built products and components from stainless steel, alloys and other metals. Our premises are fully equipped and well-suited to cater for specialised sheet metal and heavy manufacturing requirements. For 30 years, we have fabricated products for clients in the Industrial, Commercial and Residential sector, including wineries, mines, soft-drink companies, restaurants, architects and builders. 

We are seeking a hard-working and reliable 1st or 2nd Year Light Fabrication Apprentice who is interested in learning every facet of metal fabrication. The selected applicant will also undertake accredited training during their four-year apprenticeship enabling them to complete a Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade (Light). Applicants should demonstrate an interest in the industry, and a strong willingness to learn and take direction. Workshop experience is highly regarded.

The successful candidate will:

  • Possess a Certificate II in Engineering and/or started their Certificate III (highly regarded but not essential)
  • Current Driver’s License
  • Willing to learn and take direction
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Ability to work independently under the supervision of a trade professional
  • Ability to effectively work within a team
  • Understand and abide by workplace health and safety regulations
  • Able to pass drug and alcohol screening

The selected candidate will be trained in various aspects of electrics. Your duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Creating and working with light-to-heavy metal fabrications
  • Using workshop machines, hand and power tools
  • Bending, sheet and plate assembly
  • Other workshop duties
