Are you an Australian Veteran yourself and interested and passionate to help and educate others? 

This is a leading role which requires someone who has lived experience as an Australian Veteran who may have experienced Mental Health concerns themselves / or witnessed a family member who has been apart of an (ADF) service. You will be required to use your personal experiences to build rapport with consumers and stakeholders of Veterans Affairs to promote, educate and create awareness about recovery-oriented practices and various community support services! What you need to be eligible for this role: 

• A person with lived experience of Mental Illness and an ex Australian Defence Force member (for example, ex-ADF member who has been a consumer of mental health services).
• Ability to respectfully and effectively utilise this experience to promote a recovery-focused approach and to mentor or support others.
• Eligibility and a willingness to obtain a Working with Children Check
• Current Driver's License
• Willingness to undertake relevant training and professional development, including completion of certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work
• Background preference of a Royal Australian Air Force or Navy Veteran or your family member who may have been one
