About the role

This is a challenging but rewarding opportunity for you to make a positive impact in the lives of People with a Disability.

We are looking for a Disability Support Worker to work with a number of female and male clients who require community access. The ideal applicant will have a calming nature, enjoy going for walks/sports and fitness as well as an interest in arts and crafts.

Locations include the suburbs of Shelley, High Wycombe, Atwell and Osbourne park. Shifts are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Fridays each week. 15-20 hours per week.

 Key Responsibilities

• Support our clients to work towards achieving their individual aims
• Support in day to day living, promoting cooking, housekeeping, hygiene, shopping, going to the gym etc.
• Liaise and collaborate with consumers, their community and community support agencies
• Monitor and review client’s progress through the service and against the case plan
• Utilise positive behaviour strategies
• Maintenance of progress notes and record keeping

 Skills & Experience

• Unrestricted Australian Drivers Licence
• Certificate III Community Services, Disability or similar or willingness to obtain
• A commitment to supporting and promoting the individual needs, skills, abilities and personal goals of people with disabilities
• Current Senior First Aid Certificate (HLTAID003 & HLTAID001)
• NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate (online via NDIS Commission website)
• NDIS Screening Check (online via NDIS Commission website)

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant to the role).
