  • Annual Salary Range: $87,640 - $99,438 + Super
  • Tenure: Fixed Term [Until November 2021]

About the Opportunity

We are currently looking for a Senior Project Development Engineer to help develop road project proposals in accordance with our corporate guidelines and managing the key risks in the scoping and estimating of these proposals.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Engineers/Officers to join the Project Development Team and play a key part in leading the team to develop innovative solutions to improve Road Safety, reduce congestion, and provide improved facilities for pedestrian and cyclists. The team takes pride in the development of high-quality infrastructure proposals to save more lives and make journeys safer, reliable, efficient and sustainable.
These roles provide the gateway to building great networks within The Department of Transport and collaboration opportunities with numerous internal departments, regions and key external stakeholders such as TAC and local councils.

About You

If you are passionate about saving lives and creating better journeys for all road users, has experience in Project Development, Road Safety and Traffic Management, is great team player, enjoys tackling challenging problems and developing innovative solutions, and can work under pressure within tight timescales, we would love to hear from you.

As our ideal candidate, you will have;

  • 3 to 5 years' experience working in a similar role across the civil construction or related industry.
  • Proven experience in working on project proposals and developing these proposals and managing key risks in the scoping and estimation of these proposals.
  • Preparing projects, charts, plans, impact analysis and designs for roads and traffic changes as required by the job to be done
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, including the ability to effectively manage complex relationships and difficult negotiations to achieve the project outcome
  • Experience working in a project delivery environment ensuring the project is delivered on time, within budget and to the specified quality standards.
