The Allied Health Assistant will be supported to achieve the competencies and knowledge from the Certificate IV course of study related to the planning, delivery and evaluation of Allied Health care under the supervision of an Allied Health Professional.

  1. Must be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent. An applicant's race is a genuine occupational qualification and is authorised by Section 14 (d) of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977, NSW.
  2. Commitment to completion of a Certificate IV – Allied Health Assistance qualification within a two year timeframe.
  3. Ability to communicate effectively – both verbal and written.
  4. Capacity to assist in treatment and non-treatment activities or groups under the direction of an Allied Health Professional.
  5. Demonstrated ability to work independently, and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  6. An understanding of Aboriginal cultural competency and community protocols.
  7. Demonstrated experience in the use of Microsoft office applications, including basic MS Word and Excel.
  8. Valid unrestricted driver’s licence for use in NSW/Australia and willingness to travel in the course of employment.
