About us

The Department of Regional NSW was formed in 2020 as a central agency for regional issues. The Department is responsible for building resilient regional economies and communities, strengthening primary industries, managing the use of regional land, overseeing the state’s mineral and mining resources and ensuring government investment in regional NSW is fair and delivers positive outcomes for local communities and businesses.

Local Land Services (LLS) is an Executive Agency related to the cluster. It provides quality, customer-focused services to landholders and the community across New South Wales. This regionally based organisation brings together a wide range of service and advisory functions including agriculture, biosecurity, natural resource management, land management, biodiversity, emergency services, private native forestry and the Soil Conservation Service.

About the role

This role provides the exciting opportunity to assist the Biosecurity and Emergency Services function team to ensure the objectives of the NSW Biosecurity Strategy are met at a regional and local level through the delivery of related animal biosecurity and welfare, ,and invasive species business plans.

The role involves working directly with landholders, government agencies and other stakeholders to achieve agreed outcomes. You will demonstrate high quality customer service outcomes while assisting in the rollout of on ground projects relating to invasive species and animal health and welfare and play an important part in implementing priority field animal biosecurity activities to deliver outcomes.

Essential requirements

  • Capacity to be qualified and skilled within Pesticide application and guidelines. 
  • Capacity to hold a firearms licence and a Statement of Attainment (to Use Firearms to humanely destroy animals AQF AHCVPT203A, AHCPMG304)
  • Current NSW Driver Licence and ability and willingness to travel
