Human Resources are the custodians of the employee lifecycle - from acquiring talent, through to leadership development and training, internal mobility, advising on employee relations, and delivering remuneration and benefits programs.

The Head of Organisational Development is a new role responsible for OD activities with a strong focus on leadership, change management, talent and succession, future capability, and culture. Reporting to the Chief People Officer (CPO), the role will bring together the latest market thinking with the context of Colonial First State (CFS) business environment, to achieve an OD approach and practices that return business results.

This role will support the Colonial First State (CFS) business during a significant change as it separates from CBA and stands up its own separate HR team as part of the divestment.

Do work that matters:

This role works in partnership with senior leaders to deliver solutions that are relevant to business environments, and with the CPO who is the ultimate decision maker.

The principle responsibilities of the role:

  • Develop and implement CFS OD approaches, policies and practices.

  • Determine the key levers for change in line with the business strategy and develop initiatives that respond to this.

  • Define and deliver the strategic approach, tools and programs to support development of CFS culture.

  • Develop and implement for a talent management approach that ensures CFS has the right talent in both leadership and other critical roles to meet the requirements of today and the future.

  • Develop and implement for a leadership development approach that ensures CFS has the leaders needed to respond to both today and future challenges.

  • Develop and implement an approach to diversity and inclusion for CFS.

  • Define the employee value proposition in line with the culture and brand, facilitate implementation of this across people touchpoints.

  • Through partnership with the strategy team determine the capability needs of the business to support the strategy. Identify solutions to transition to achieve these capabilities.

  • Engage across the people team and business leaders to create pull for OD practices through collaboratively designing solutions that are business relevant.

  • Play a key role across the people team to engage, develop and motivate those in the team.

We're interested in hearing from people who have:

  • 10+ years in a OD Management position requiring collaboration across stakeholders.

  • University Qualifications in Human Resources Management / Organisational Development or a related Business Management Qualifications.

  • Exposure to Boards is preferred.

  • Be able to demonstrate broad experience and record of accomplishment of effectively developing & implementing OD strategies and initiatives.

  • Demonstrates strategic thinking ability and the subsequent transition that into operational plans that can be effectively implemented in varying contexts.

  • Exceptional influencing skills. Able to context topics in a manner relevant to local teams and senior stakeholders including leadership teams and boards.

  • Demonstrates thought leadership in organisational development practices and can pragmatically apply this within the business context.
