The Accessibility Team plays a key role in influencing positive organisational change within Queensland Rail, creating a culture that takes a holistic and integrated approach to the planning, delivery, and provision of a world-class accessible rail service. 

We are looking for an experienced leader who has exceptional interpersonal skills in facilitating complex stakeholder relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Your demonstrated experience in the development, planning and implementation of organisational-wide awareness raising campaigns and target training will position you as an ideal candidate. You will excel leading a small business critical team, enabling capability uplift and cross-functional collaboration within the organisation.

Reporting to the Senior Manager Accessibility, you will lead and drive the development, planning and implementation of an internal organisational-wide awareness raising campaign and target training to build organisational capability. You will play a key leadership role in lifting the cultural awareness across the organisation to enable the delivery of a world-class rail service accessible to all members of the community. In partnership with project owners and project delivery partners, you will also play an instrumental role in facilitating collaboration to ensure the early and genuine engagement with the disability sector for Queensland Rail’s major infrastructure projects. 

We are looking for a candidate who has extensive proven experience in a large complex and heavily regulated organisation. Your experience in the stakeholder management of complex built environment and public transport projects would make you an ideal candidate.

The successful candidate will need to:

  • Lead business transformation through the development and implementation of tailored awareness raising campaigns and specific training to build organisational capability in the planning, design, and delivery of an accessible rail service.
  • Build organisational capability, increase awareness and implement a suite of initiatives that lead to an improved accessible customer experience. 
  • Build and develop exceptional relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including government, industry bodies and the disability sector.
  • Provide well considered and structured advice and reports to the Senior Manager and Executive Leadership Team.
  • Effectively manage change management processes, encouraging innovation, diversity and continuous improvement.
  • Lead performance excellence by setting clear direction, performance standards and expectations for team members.

We are looking for candidates who have:

  • Demonstrated innovative and best-practice knowledge and experience in the development of communication and engagement strategies.
  • Extensive experience in engaging with persons with disabilities, including experience in tailoring communication strategies and tactics to align with individual circumstances.
  • Possession of IAP2 Certificate in Engagement or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience in the stakeholder management of complex build environment and public transport projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in collaborating with complex stakeholder segments via the methodology of co-design.
  • Knowledge off and/or the ability to quickly acquire knowledge of federal and state legislation applicable to the provision of accessible public transport.
