Queensland Rail's Security Infrastructure & Compliance team is responsible for maintaining and improving general security for its customers and staff. An opportunity now exists for an experienced auditor to join the team as Senior Security Audit & Compliance Advisor.
The purpose of this role is to contribute to increased security by conducting a wide variety of 1st and 2nd line security assurance activities, including exercises and audits. This role has a particular focus on the conduct of counter-terrorism audits and exercises required under the QLD 2008 Transport Security (Counter Terrorism) Act, and on the provision of first line assurance to the Senior Manager Security & Emergency Preparedness Delivery in relation to a variety of safety and non-safety risks. This will see you working simultaneously on multiple audits and exercises which are at different stages of planning, implementation and review.

Your main responsibilities will include:
• Developing short and long-term audit and exercise plans to provide assurance that security risks are being monitored
• Designing and planning legislatively required security exercises in conjunction with internal stakeholders and external agencies
• Making site visits and observations during exercise implementation
• Compiling comprehensive reports detailing findings and recommendations for management, and logging findings in the recommendation tracking system
• Providing high level security policy and procedural advice, and supporting the development and implementation of new practices and procedures
• Being the security assurance administrator for the businesses Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) system

Previous audit experience will be vital to your success in this role. In addition you will need:
• High level of skill developing short and long-term plans (preferably in relation to security risk monitoring)
• Substantial experience conducting high level audits of systems, procedures, processes and plans to determine compliance
• High level of skill and experience in the planning and conduct of various exercises types, often with multiple internal and external personnel
• Have experience creating high level operational documents and reports 
• Excellent ICT skills (including MSOffice) 
• Excellent organisation and communication skills
• A professional, common-sense approach to tasks
• The ability to prioritise and multi-task to complete competing workloads

This is a permanent, full-time role based in central Brisbane. The successful applicant will be required to satisfactorily undertake a National Police Check in addition to an alcohol and other drug screen.

Annual salary is $110,328 plus super.
