About this opportunity

The Program Support Officer will work with the Program Lead to deliver project outcomes that support government waste and resource recovery policy, plans and strategy, including Statewide Waste and Resource Recovery Infrastructure plan (SWIRRP), the Recycling Industry Strategic Plan (RISP), Sustainability Victoria's Towards 2020 Strategy (SV2020) and the Recycling Victoria – a new economy Policy.

Reporting to the Manager Resource Recovery Infrastructure the role will be required to manage and deliver multiple projects and funding agreements (contracts) with project partners to meet milestone payment schedules and due dates. You will contribute to program enquiries and promotion, monitoring, reporting and evaluation.

The role will deliver a variety of projects from different programs such as the E-waste Landfill Ban Infrastructure Support Program, the Resource Recovery Infrastructure Fund and the Recycling Victoria Infrastructure Fund

About you

The position requires excellent communication and negotiation skills, strong stakeholder engagement, and the ability to build relationships quickly. You will be required to work to critical timelines to achieve results.

You will work in a result driven, high performing team and you will have a demonstrated ability to multi-task while being resilient and adaptable to the demands of a fast-paced agile work environment is essential.

Specialist skills & knowledge

  • Holds tertiary qualification in related fields i.e. engineering, environmental sciences/management or sustainability
  • Current Victorian (Australian) drivers' licence
  • Knowledge of the waste and resource recovery sector, the current issues state, national and international and an understanding of technical or specialist knowledge of waste and resource recovery solutions is desirable
