 SeaLink is looking for a HR professional passionate about diversity to join their team on a fix-term basis for 6 months.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate previous experience in a generalist HR position, preferably within the tourism or transport industry.

About the role

The National Diversity & Engagement Consultant will support the business in developing diversity and inclusion programs, and in driving improvements in employee performance and engagement across the business. The successful candidate will form part of the national People & Culture team, and contribute to the development and facilitation of programs designed to cultivate a culture of diversity and inclusion, as well as undertaking generalist HR duties. This role will also involve assisting with the further development and delivery of our organisations Reconciliation Action Plan.

This role is being offered on a permanent part-time basis (0.8 FTE, or 60.8 hours a fortnight), for an initial period of 6 months.

About You

  • Able to establish innovate ways to further build advocacy for inclusion & diversity
  • Ability to critically evaluate employee engagement trends & opportunities
  • Ability to plan workload considering conflicting priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent to analyse data and prepare professional documents
  • Excellent working knowledge of organisational development, including employee engagement and performance management.
  • Experience of communicating through times of complex organisational change.
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to review data and draw conclusions and provide insight and business focused recommendations.

These key requirements will be complimented by experience and skills in the following areas:

  • Human Resources qualifications
  • Project management skills/qualifications
  • Knowledge of diversity and inclusion best practices
  • Stakeholder consultation and HR business partnering
  • Ability to develop strategies and deliver organisational development programs
  • High quality verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills
  • Experience leading and motivating a project team to get the best out of individuals and teams
  • Experience analysing social, legal, economic, technological and political factors towards achieving competitive business advantage
