We are based on the Northern Beaches in a brand new purpose-built office with a sensory testing facility, shopper lab and qualitative focus group rooms. We also have our own community, Shopper Social, which opens up many opportunities on how to access consumers.

Position Summary

In the new role as the Account Director at PLAY you'll take a lead on existing major client accounts while growing your portfolio across all research areas, ensuring profitability and client satisfaction.

We’d love it if you came armed with some of the following:

  1. Minimum five years experience in an Australian market research agency leading customised ad hoc projects (both qual and quant).
  2. Live and breathe FMCG research (experience outside of FMCG also a bonus!)
  3. Ability to deliver strategic insight and expert consultation to maintain significant and ongoing client relationships.
  4. Proven track record of business development.
  5. Self-motivated, analytical individual with an attention to detail who strives in a dynamic, deadline driven environment.
  6. Superior organisational, multi-tasking, decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
  7. Experience of using Q research software a bonus.

Sounds good? Here’s what you would be doing day to day

  • Key account management of a diverse range of clients. Understand and address their business needs, providing consultation versus order taking.
  • Drive business development to meet sales goals for both new and existing clients.
  • Develop and design inspiring solutions for clients based on research approaches and products best suited to their needs. Strive for innovation through an open-minded and adventurous mindset.
  • Manage all aspects of the research lifecycle from briefing to proposal, questionnaire design, data interpretation and presentation storytelling.
  • Continuously exceed expectations with visually stunning presentations, actionable insights and ultra-shareable results.
  • Maintain and strengthen client relationships through exceptional service and strong attention to quality control. Support with meaningful 'client love' activities such as educational presentations and white papers.
  • Partner with team members to develop all key client accounts through relationship building while providing leadership/oversight on research project execution.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to increase awareness of your specialist areas through content marketing, client outreach, speaking opportunities and trade media.
  • Maintain a strong focus on financials, account growth and other success metrics.
  • Happy & able to travel between states (when safe to do so!) for client meetings and fieldwork when needed.
