JOB DESCRIPTION

Our local employer is known for working on the country as part of a small team and in consultation with landowners. They support capacity building and development of local women inland and cultural management. They employ people who are committed to positive change and who want to work for an organisation that values: • Respect for culture, country, and each other • Accountability • Teamwork • Continuous improvement; and • Open and honest communication Our employer is looking for responsible and dedicated people to join their team, who can also demonstrate an ability to undertake the following: • Fulfill NAQS Biosecurity contacts (animal health, dog census, aquatic biosecurity, and plant surveys) • Conduct weed management • Fire management including planning, creating firebreaks, ground, and aerial burning, coordination with other rangers and ALFA, etc. • Support with feral animal management - ground and aerial culling, fencing and exclusion, trapping and radio tagging with CSIRO Essential: • Driver’s license or ability to obtain one • Ability to work on the country in the sun and heat • Ability to learn new skills and follow instructions • Positive attitude at work • Ability to work well in a team environment • Speaking knowledge of at least 1 local language Desirable: • Have experience in looking after country • Good writing and reading in English • Completed year 11 in school • Ability to work on computers
