About the role

Utilise your previous leadership experience to lead the day to day operations for our train crew team based at our Kalgoorlie depot. 

As this is a key leadership role within the Kalgoorlie depot and broader WA state team, one of your key responsibilities is driving the safety behaviours of the team, and with your strong commitment to safety, managing the safe operations of the depot whilst promoting and living the Pacific National values. Part of the role also includes a strong emphasis on implementing operational improvements, safe working improvements and ensuring productive workplace practices.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Identifying safety improvement opportunities, and managing, developing and delivering Depot SHE initiatives that eliminate risk and reduce injuries and incidents within the business.
  • Managing and co-coordinating day-to-day Depot train operations to fulfil the train plan
  • Supporting the rostering development process to ensure efficiency and optimal design of master and working rosters whilst meeting EA and safety requirements.
  • Proactively leading a team of drivers that work at 24/7 roster
  • As part of the Linehaul management team, developing strategies for the recruitment of new Drivers to ensure that the business maintains appropriate levels of skills and experience.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have a strong safety background and:

  • Rail Experience and/or appropriate industry experience in either Transport & Logistics or a similar industry.
  • Demonstrated operational experience and knowledge in a comparable role in a dynamic and demanding environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills at various levels of an organisation.
  • Knowledge of SHE management systems and demonstrated experience managing the implementation of effective SHE initiatives.
  • Solid time management skills and willingness to work flexible hours.
