Greyhound Racing Victoria (GRV) is the statutory authority responsible for regulating, conducting and promoting greyhound racing in Victoria, a sport that annually generates around $400 million in economic activity and over $3 billion in wagering and directly involves over 15,000 people. Our vision is “Victorian Greyhound Racing is a vibrant, entertaining and thriving sport with animal welfare at its heart. The Veterinarian Services team has a key role in upholding the integrity of the sport and promoting animal welfare for the industry’s number one stakeholder, the greyhound.
About the Opportunity
We are looking for a highly motivated veterinarians to join the Greyhound Racing Integrity Unit (GRIU) Veterinary Services team. The primary purpose of the role is to ensure all nominated greyhounds are fit to race. Race meetings are conducted at 13 clubs across Victoria. The team also work with Integrity Operations in assessing welfare concerns.
About You
We are seeking candidates who have:
- a Degree in Veterinary Science (or equivalent)
- registration with the Veterinary Practitioners Registration Board of Victoria (or eligibility)
- at least one years' experience in veterinary practice
- experience in handling larger breed dogs
- contemporary knowledge of animal welfare matters
- demonstrated interpersonal and customer service skills
- sound MS Office skills and the ability prepare standard reports
- a Victorian driver licence.
