The Role

The Executive Officers are required to enhance the Branch Heads’ capacity to lead and support the local, front-line services, delivered through the State and Territory directors. The Executive Officers will directly support the Branch Heads’ leadership of business planning, goal and target setting, issue and performance reporting and performance improvement initiatives.
The Executive Officers will also support the Branch Heads, and State and Territory Directors in: the delivery of coordinated regulatory operations, programs, projects and campaigns.
The Executive Officer will identify linkages, anticipate needs and develop solutions where required, and provide advice in verbal and written form of both a more strategic and operational nature. 
  • Understand the needs and requirements of the Branch Head and undertake the work necessary to ensure plans and goals are achieved and deadlines met.
  • Undertake co-ordination of tasks and projects related to governance, performance, change and operational initiatives for the region, as required.
  • Manage and prepare reports, briefings, agendas, papers and advice on complex and/or sensitive issues, including responses to requests for information.
  • Quality-assure reports and other written materials. Supervise follow through on minutes or records where required.
  • Communicate and liaise with internal stakeholders while maintaining respect, confidentiality and effective working relationships.
  • Support and mentor staff in management-support and decision-support roles within the region.
About You
The contractor will have a positive contemporary attitude to people with disability and have the following capabilities:
  • Demonstrated experience in executive officer roles, or similar roles, with high-level skills in delivering management-support and decision-support to executives and management teams.
  • Strong skills and experience in business planning, performance monitoring, and reporting, and skills in analysing issues within a complex operational business.
  • Demonstrated experience with project-management and change-management.
  • Familiarity with data management and data analytics, as a contributor to performance reporting and as an enabler of process and performance improvement.
  • Experience working in a regulatory context, including an ability rapidly to become familiar with new laws and complex technical, professional or clinical issues.
  • Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively with multiple stakeholders
  • Excellent listening and communication skills, both in written and oral communication, with an ability to identify and convey key issues while maintaining accuracy regarding points of detail.
  • Lived experience of disability or demonstrated understanding of disability services in a State or Territory Government context would be an advantage.
