The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra) works in partnership with 15 National Boards to implement the national regulatory scheme for health professionals. The purpose of health practitioner regulation is to protect the public by ensuring that only health practitioners who have the skills, qualifications and knowledge to provide safe care are registered.

We are currently recruiting for two full time, fixed term vacancies in our Melbourne office (6 months and 12 months)

About the Role

Reporting to the Regulatory Advisor Registration – (Team Leader Admin), the Regulatory Assistant – Registration will undertake reception duties and provide comprehensive administration and support services to the registration teams across all aspects of the registration function within established national policies and procedures with a focus on Ahpra’s values to deliver high performance. Some of the duties may include but not limited to:

  • Complete administrative support activities within registration including preliminary data entry of applications, conducting legacy checks and issuing of certificates of registration status within established time frames and established national policies and processes.
  • Provide efficient and courteous service to customers at reception on a rotating basis, including greeting the public, answering routine enquiries and directing the public on how to contact appropriate Ahpra staff.
  • Undertake reception duties (front and back of house), including processing and reconciling of payments and other financial transactions, receipt and processing of documents and adhering to the procedures when transferring these to other business units.

About You

You demonstrate a professional manner and have excellent customer service skills. You are a highly organised, self starter who has a great eye for detail. The successful applicant will also have the following skills:

  • Certificate II in Business Administration or equivalent and/or relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office applications for email, word processing, spread-sheets and data bases and an ability to learn and adapt to new systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a complex administrative environment
  • Sound interpersonal, written and oral communication skills and experience in dealing with people at all levels.
  • Sound organisation skills including excellent time management skills plus the ability to prioritise workload in response to time critical targets.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment to deliver assigned workload.
  • Experience working with HP Trim, Pivotal or Salesforce would be an advantage.
  • Previous experience in a similar role or Regulatory Officer position (desired)
