Service Coordinator WHOS Hub Newcastle
WHOS (WE HELP OURSELVES) HUNTER NSW REGION
The advertised position will provide services within our established WHOS Hub Newcastle Day Program for clients on Opioid Substitution Treatment, including community liaison and coordination with other agencies to identify appropriate services for clients.
The program is normally based in Newcastle with face to face client contact, however due to COVID all service delivery is currently via Tele Health. Therefore, this position is temporarily based at one of our Cessnock facilities until such time as the Newcastle office can be re-opened. During this period the successful applicant would also be responsible for providing face to face services to the Hunter Residential Therapeutic Community Pre-Admissions Program (at the Cessnock location).
WHOS requires an individual in this role who can be flexible with changing program delivery and work requirements as the organisation navigates keeping our clients safe during the COVID pandemic.
The role requires a motivated and committed individual to provide effective coordination, negotiation, networking, communication and teamwork.
Applicants will need to demonstrate experience in the following in their application:
* The coordination of services that provide day programs, case management, group-based programs, and residential treatment.
* Coordinating services for clients that have substance dependence and associated issues
* Information management systems including electronic client file and data management systems
* Sound administration and written communication skills and the ability write internal reports and reports focusing on KPIs required by funding bodies
* Recognised qualification in AOD / Mental Health / Community Services
* Extensive experience working in AOD, mental health or related field
* Demonstrated knowledge of AOD Harm Reduction approach
* Experience working with clients on Opioid Substitution Treatment.
* Experience coordinating service delivery and staff within a similar setting
* Networking experience
* NSW driver's license and satisfactory driver declaration
