Our client is a reputable federal government department with multiple offices across Australia.

The Service Desk Officer reports to the Service Desk Manager and is a critical role as part of the administration of the section's essential clinical systems.

With over 1600 staff and contractors accessing the various clinical systems, the Service Desk Officer provides support to all end users by monitoring the system performance, responding to system problems and implementing upgrades and enhancements.

Your primary duties will be:

* Daily Service Desk tasks including logging requests on behalf of end-users, fielding queries, managing tickets, escalations and monitoring the Client Management System environment.
* Provide information gathering and troubleshooting across tickets or end-user issues.
* Accurately and timely completion of tickets, asking appropriate questions and following a systematic approach to determine the cause of the issue or problem.
* Escalate relevant issues to technical and non-technical stakeholders
* Assist and develop training manuals or procedures and contribute towards an on-going knowledge base.

You will bring:

* Good understanding of Service Desk Service Management principles, delegation and prioritisation.
* Strong computer skills
* Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot issues
* Strong customer service skills
* Ability to communicate effectively
* Writing and editing skills to contribute towards writing and updating manuals or procedural guides.
