The Company
Our client is a well-known and loved retail brand who boast an exciting presence within Australia and across the globe.

The Role
The Quality Assurance and Technical Manager will be responsible for ensuring food safety processes, materials used, product quality, restaurant standards and specifications are above industry and audit requirements. They will partner with all functions across the business’ local and international network including NPD/Chef, procurement, restaurant teams, marketing, suppliers, finance, etc to ensure all areas are focused on Quality and embed a shared Quality vision and focus. This is broken into 4 key pillars: Governance and Risk, Quality Assurance, Technical and Restaurant Operations, and Commercial Value Add.

The QA & Technical Manager will oversee, lead, align and continuously improve quality standards covering the entire Supply Chain from supplier selection, review and material inputs, through to serving the customer, cleanliness and Hygiene. This will include developing training programs for the store network, reviewing and refining standard operating procedures ranging from cleaning, storage, food prep/cooking (including cooking programs), serving and hygiene. They will also take the lead in compliance to all industry and food safety audit standards. They will be the key escalation point in handling customer complaints and other quality issues through conducting root cause analysis, developing solutions and preventative measures. As the technical leader, they will partner closely with the Head of Food and Procurement, Suppliers and the leadership team to ensure all materials sourced, and all new products are created, are in line with quality assurance standards and within company specifications. They will also play a key role in the selection of new machinery and managing asset life cycle of company assets in relation to cooking, cleaning and sanitation (eg, ovens, grills, washing units, etc.).

Skills & Experience
Tertiary Qualified in Food Technology / Science or similar
Have direct experience working within a large-scale food hospitality group or food manufacturing environment across multiple sites preferably in high care (meat, dairy, etc.) food production.
Successful track record in product development from within a dynamic QSR food manufacturing environment.
Detailed expertise across retail and food service quality standards including FSANZ, BRC, SQF, WQA, etc
The right candidate will have a keen interest in new food technologies from nutritional, economical and technological aspects
Superior communication, leadership and influencing skills.
Collaborative hands-on team player and leader
Strong change management and strong stakeholder management abilities to drive synergy and Quality Assurance priorities across all functions.
