Full control of in-house Payroll
Recruit new team members, create a Centre of Payroll excellence

THE COMPANY

THE OPPORTUNITY
Reporting to a tenured HR Shared Services Manager (4+ years with the business), the Manager, Payroll Services will provide leadership to the Payroll Services team to meet Service Level Agreements and ensure compliance with applicable legislative instruments and obligations. You will ensure accurate preparation of Workers Compensation and Payroll Tax returns, Group Tax, Superannuation reconciliations and other third-party payments. As a result of recent acquisitions, you will also be tasked with optimising end-to-end payroll processes through automation and analytics to build a Centre of Excellence within the area of Payroll Services. Being the most senior Payroll Professional in the organisation, you will provide counsel to the Senior Leadership Team on all payroll related matters.

This is a newly created Group position established both as a result of acquisition and succession planning. As the most senior Payroll Professional in the organisation, your voice will be heard and this business is all ears when it comes to better ways of doing things. You will inherit a high performing and stable team but also have full ownership of the recruitment process when it comes to hiring at least five new team members in April/May. CHALLENGES
Volume coupled with complexity. Add in the fact the existing team of 6 Payroll Professionals will double before EOFY 20/21 it is evident this will be, initially, a very busy role with many moving parts until the business beds down its recent company defining acquisitions. Your challenge is to navigate the change and ensure the business has the right Leader in place to drive the Payroll function and create the Centre of Excellence for all things Payroll, particularly Customer Service.

IDEAL APPLICANTS
You are a natural leader who will present with previous experience managing a large and complex payroll function with high volume weekly payroll across multiple states and territories. Your technical prowess, when it comes to Statutory and Legislative obligations, is second to none and you thrive in a change environment.
