What you’ll be doing

The Financial Services Team in digital is responsible for all Coles financial services products and payment services for Coles, Kmart, Target and Officeworks. It operates as a relatively small business within a big organisation covering products such as Coles MasterCard’s, Personal Loans, Pre-paid Cards, insurance products as well as payment services such as acquiring transactions for Coles, Kmart, Target and Officeworks through all the major payment schemes, in-store terminal solutions and digital payment capability for customers shopping on-line or in mobile apps.

The team is focussed on providing great products and unique tailored customer experiences by partnering with the world’s best financial services and technology providers.

The role is a mix of commercial and technical work, you will be driving product and marketing innovation from an analytics perspective as well as working closely with the business to extract requirements.

You will work on end to end solutions, from understanding the needs of the business through to building solutions and strategies such as campaigns, customer insights and reports/dashboards.

Some of the key day to day tasks you will be responsible for are:

  • This role will act as the analytics business partner for the financial services product and marketing teams considered part of the business team and an expert on data & customer behaviour
  • Build targeted marketing campaigns for acquisition and lifecycle, developing targeting strategies and segmentations, campaigns build and post campaign analysis and insights
  • Build relationships with stakeholders to understand business priorities and proactively recommend solutions using insights from customer behaviour and data. Ability to take a business problem and use various analytics techniques and knowledge (data mining, segmentation etc) to find answers and recommend solutions and strategies
  • Cross-team collaboration (Product, marketing, finance) to pro-actively carry out analytics projects and identify opportunities to add value through customer analysis, whilst managing competing priorities and educating business on value of analytics projects.
  • Important input into strategies and business cases such as customer campaigns, product changes and new product development

Good things you’ll need

  • Extensive experience in customer focussed analytics role
  • Proven track record in business insights/intelligence or marketing analytics function
  • Experience working with and presenting to senior business stakeholders such as Product & Marketing
  • Need to understand business problems and challenges and use data to solve problems and challenges.
  • Data analysis, SQL data mining
  • Experience in advanced analytics a plus - Propensity modelling and customer segmentation
