We are looking for a passionate Casual Medical Receptionist who will be responsible for upholding its professional and company standards, whilst ensuring an absolute commitment to the delivery of professional, caring and friendly services to patients, referrers and customers. This position has been established to ensure the delivery of these commitments at the Cardiology WA Practices and Clinics and to ensure the achievement of quality, cost and productivity targets for the business.

What you’ll do:

  • Acting as the first point of contact to patients, greeting patients upon arrival and accurately processing relevant paperwork

  • Provide excellent customer service for both face to face and phone contact for patients and the Cardiologists

  • Work with colleagues and other administrative staff to achieve efficient and effective management of medical records and clinical information throughout the Practice

  • Monitoring flow of patients within the rooms

  • Monitoring patient comfort and care in the waiting room

  • Ensuring the smooth running of Cardiologists clinics and testing services.

  • Liaising with Secretaries to Cardiologists and Technical staff

  • Manage all patient records and the retrieval and filing of patient notes for testing clinics

  • Booking and confirming patients for tests and consultations and tend to the patients' needs

  • Billing and Receipting at time of clinic

  • Receiving, distribution and preparation of mail

  • Support for all other staff as needed

  • Involvement with multi-skilling practices within HCWA acquiring new skills through appropriate training as required

  • Role model adherence to relevant processes, forms, policies in accordance with HCWA’s Quality Service Management System (Q-SMS)

Who you are:

  • Demonstrated understanding of and an ability to provide excellent patient care and customer service.

  • Proven experience to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.

  • Excellent computer skills with ability to use Microsoft Access and rapidly learn the relevant medical software.

  • Exceptional organisation and communication skills with the ability to efficiently work as an effective member of an administrative support team.

  • Exceptional phone manner and the demonstrated competency in handling a range of patient inquiries.

  • High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.

  • Experience working in a fast paced environment.

  • Relevant training or qualifications in medical reception

  • Previous cardiology or medical experience

  • Membership of a relevant professional body or association.

  • Completion of accredited medical reception training course and/or experience in medical reception or customer service orientated profession.

  • Experience in medical billing and receipting (desirable)
