What you'll be doing
The Grace Centre for Newborn Intensive Care (GCNIC) Clinical Audit Nurse is responsible for maintaining an accurate database of all patients admitted to Grace Centre for Newborn Care and providing data to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unity Study (NICUS) and the Australian and New Zealand Neonatal Network (ANZNN). This position was initially funded by the Perinatal Services Network who have employed audit officers in all the neonatal intensive care units in NSW and the ACT. This is crucial to maintain the quality of health care provided and measure the impact of interventions on the outcomes for the babies. The data is provided for benchmarking purposes and contributes to the NICUS report as well as to the Mothers and Babies report published annually by the Department of Health.

  1. Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

  2. Experience working in a neonatal intensive care unit

  3. Experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, databases and data analysis

  4. Ability to work independently and within a small team

  5. Demonstrates effective communication and interpersonal skills

  6. Works within legal and ethical practice guidelines

  7. Strong interest in research and willing to become involved in Unit research programs
