With the enviable reputation as a leading global defence corporation, my client has independently developed and produced weapons and land systems delivering leading edge capabilities for the modern battle space.

Reporting to the Project Manager your role is to coordinate project activities, including simple tasks and larger plans. You will be expected to use your preferred PM skillsets/methodologies/frameworks to support the successful management and execution of this major project. You will also be required to support schedule management, arrange assignments, support project governance and communicate to all team members.

Primary Duties:

There are three primary areas of responsibility in descending order:

  1. Support to the project as a whole
  2. PM support to the Ammunition Program
  3. PM support to the Industry Development Unit

The duties and responsibilities of the APM are wide ranging and may include, but are not limited to:

  • Supporting development of project plans encompassing all facets of the project management methodology
  • Overseeing the project's daily functions to ensure deadlines and compliance requirements are met
  • Preparing action plans
  • Analysing risks and opportunities and managing the governance of risk.
  • Ensuring the project meets quality standards and is completed on time and within budget
  • Coordinating and administering meetings, including issuing of minutes
  • Setting timeframes and goals
  • Creating and updating workflows
  • Governing the project document record system
  • Liaising with other professionals and consultants to define outcomes and timelines
  • Preparing and providing documentation to internal teams and key stakeholders
  • Ordering of resources. I.e. equipment and software
  • Be a conduit between the various workstreams

    Bachelor's degree in any discipline or Certificate IV in Project Management Practice or Diploma/Advanced Diploma of Project Management

    Previous Defence experience is desirable
    5+ years' experience as a Project Administrator, Project Manager, Project Coordinator or similar role
    Hands-on experience with flowcharts, technical documentation and schedules
    Knowledge of project management software (e.g. Trello or Microsoft Project)
    Experience in utilizing ASDEFCON or similar suite (i.e. State/Federal Government) of tendering and contracting templates
    Ability to work in a multitasked, dynamic, and changing environment
