About the Opportunity

Warrumbungle Shire Council is currently looking for a Project Engineer to join their team in Coolah, NSW, on a full-time basis, working 35 hours a week.

Reporting to the Manager of Warrumbungle Water, you will be providing planning, technical advice and management of project activities to ensure they're delivered on-time and within budget, in accordance with contract requirements and relevant quality, safety and environment standards.

More specifically, some of your day to day duties will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Reviewing, interpreting and providing advice on technical/engineering reports, models and drawings;
  • Preparation tender documents, risk management plans, Gantt charts, project plans and project programs;
  • Monitoring, reporting and documenting all aspects of project performance, budget, risks and issues, ensuring activities match the approved project plan;

About You

To be considered for this role, you will hold a tertiary qualification in civil, process, or chemical engineering, or similar, with demonstrated experience in delivering water and sewer projects, ideally in local government or a similar environment that involved working on multiple projects at a time.

You'll need to have a strong background in project management, with knowledge of project construction, contract management, and tender evaluation procedures. An in-depth understanding of risk management, and its role in managing project fundamentals such as time, cost, quality, safety and the environment, will be crucial.

Strong, demonstrated leadership experience will be key to effectively supporting and building relationships with a range of stakeholders, working with individuals across multiple Council departments and external organisations. It's also important that you have a solid understanding of, and commitment to, work health and safety (WHS) at all times.

Please note: You will need a current Australian Driver's License, and ideally hold or be willing to obtain a construction 'white card'.

This is a fantastic opportunity to advance your career with a friendly and welcoming local council, offering ongoing support for training and professional development to help you grow as part of their team.
