The Role

The Production Line Team Leader is responsible for the day to day planning, set up and supervision of our client’s packaging and production lines. Monitoring individual, team and machine performance to meet client deadlines you will ensure all products are packed to specification.

This is a central role that sees you working cohesively with all elements of the business to meet targets and working to optimise production run time and line speeds. You will be across staff, equipment and the immediate environment for any potential food safety or quality issues and seek to uphold and exceed industry standards.

You will undertake regular job rotations for staff to prevent/minimise fatigue and repetitive injury and ensure a culture of safety at all times. Your duties may include but not be limited to:

  • Ensure product supply, delivery timeframes and packing requirements orders are met
  • Responsible for setting up pack outs and entering accurate data into the system for traceability purposes
  • Responsible for collecting, compiling, signing and forwarding of all related production documentation to relevant parties in a timely manner
  • Ensuring all systems and processes are carried out in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
  • Allocating work, coordinating production lines and overseeing the work of production team members to ensure packed products continue to meet customer requirements and maintain optimum production run speeds are maintained
  • Equipment monitoring to improve, promote and maintain production efficiencies
  • Staff training and mentoring
  • Job rotations and rostering

Skills & Experience

You will have proven experience in a supervisory role and able to communicate effectively across all levels of the business. Results oriented, you will have solid problem solving skills and be equipped with proven leadership capabilities.

Establishing relationships with various teams throughout the business, you will be flexible and hands on, well organised and carry out your tasks in a purposeful and responsible way. To be considered for the role, it’s important you address the following criteria:

  • Proven experience in production/packing supervisory role
  • Excellent communicator with strong leadership skills
  • High level problem solver with great time management
  • Discreet and able to maintain confidentiality
  • Flexible and adaptable to a changing environment
  • Good mechanical skills
  • Forklift licence highly regarded (not essential)
