JOB DESCRIPTION

The Shire of East Pilbara is a well-established Local Government Authority in Western Australia, which services the town sites of Newman, Marble Bar, Nullagine and local communities.

We now seek a suitably qualified and enthusiastic officer to fill the role of Aquatic Officer - Newman, which is predominately based at the Newman Aquatic Centre but may be required to visit other Shire Aquatic facilities. In this role you will be responsible to the Coordinator Aquatic Services in providing support with the supervision and coordination of the Newman Aquatic Centre and/or Marble Bar Swimming Pool.

The successful applicant will have a current Pool Lifeguard Award, Applied First Aid Certificate, Pool Plant Operators Certificate (WA Accredited) and LIWA accreditation or the willingness to obtain. Recent work experience in an Aquatic Facility along with proven self-management and time management skills are essential for you to successfully fill this role.

A total remuneration package of $70,832.90 - $81,277.32 per annum will be made available to the right candidate (depending on the level of qualifications and experience). This remuneration package is inclusive of 10 additional hours per fortnight, paid at time and a half, and 17.5% leave loading. Additional benefits include subsidised housing, electricity and water (or a Living Allowance of up to $20K), relocation expenses, 5 weeks annual leave, a uniform allowance, parental leave, eligibility for long service leave, annual travel assistance, professional development and a 50% discount for recreational/gym/aquatic memberships and free fitness assessments.
