How will I help?
This role provides support and advice to the GM Business Controls Monitoring and Remediation and is responsible for the management of processes and projects associated with both Group Risk directives as well as the strategy of WIB (Westpac Institutional Bank). The role involves building relationships across all areas of the business and the broader Westpac Group.

As a Business Manager, you will work closely with the GM, EA and Leadership Team, proactively helping manage how the GM spends their time, ensuring that an effective operating rhythm is in place and continue to review and triage issues and priorities as needed. To be successful in this role you will need to apply your strategic and commercial acumen to multitask across several deliverables and issues resolution simultaneously, to effectively help manage the demands of a busy GM Office.

It is an expectation of this role to promote a strong risk culture that embodies our ethics and integrity, balancing commercial and customer needs. This role is responsible for the delivery of all Board and WIB ET papers for the team, working with our SMEs and ensuring the quality, timeliness and approval process for papers. This will be achieved by building strong relationships quickly through credibility and knowledge.
  • Experience leading initiatives, building relationships, and delivering in high pressure environments is also required.
  • Assist the GM in effectively embedding operational risk, resulting in effective risk management and take ownership of Business Continuity Planning/ COVID response.
  • Assist with the growth and execution of the GM communication strategy, while initiating the department structure optimisation.

What do I need?
A successful candidate will bring 5 plus years of experience as a Business Manager (or similar) coming from the Banking or Financial Services industry. You will have proven experience collaborating with divisional leaders and senior business stakeholders, including drafting executive and board level reports/papers. You will enjoy working in a fast paced, dynamic environment and demonstrated a proven ability to work collectively with staff and support the GM through your commercial acumen. You will use your existing knowledge to help prioritise deliverables, with a strong desire to deliver on Initiatives and projects.
