The Role:

The role of 13 Combat Service Support Battalion (13 CSSB) is to provide logistics and support to the 13th Brigade (13 BDE) in order to support training and operations. The 13 CSSB Logistics Officer (Technical Stores Supervisor) is responsible to the Commanding Officer for the management of the battalion’s stores and equipment held within the Main Quartermasters Store and Warehouse. The key duties of this role are:

  • Supervise the technical development and personnel administration of subordinate staff.
  • Supervise the conduct of Receipt and Issue of inwards goods including Returned Stores processes for 13 BDE.
  • Coordinate the day to day operation of the 13 CSSB armoury and 13 BDE Explosive Ordnance storage facilities adhering to Defence policies.
  • Assist the Warehouse Manager with the management of hazardous goods storage within the 13 CSSB Warehouse.
  • Assist the Warehouse Manager with all Corporate Governance requirements including stocktaking of the 13 CSSB Warehouse.
  • Supervise the operation of freight and cargo actions.
  • Supervise and conduct data entry within Military Integrated Logistics Information System (MILIS).
  • Perform the duties of Deputy Senior Unit Equipment Manager (DSUEM) within the 13 CSSB Warehouse.
  • Provide DSUEM related training for subordinate staff and 13 CSSB Army Reserve Quartermaster staff.

About our Team:

Our team is located within Irwin Barracks, Karrakatta, Perth and operate out of 13 CSSB Main Quartermaster Store (Main Q) and Warehouse. The role of 13 Combat Service Support Battalion (13 CSSB) is to provide logistics and support to the 13th Brigade (13 BDE) in order to support training and operations. 13 CSSB’s Main Q and Warehouse staff consists of a combination of members of the Australian Army and Australian Public Service operating as one team. The 13 CSSB Main Q and Warehouse team are responsible for the Supply Chain Management requirements that enable the support requirements to 13 CSSB and 13th BDE. The team conducts the provision, supervision and management of most Classes of Supply; provides advice on storage, handling and disposal of dangerous goods; performs Unit Resource functions including procurement and negotiating contracts; and manages compliance within Defence Corporate Governance requirements.
