Role Overview
The Production Manager is responsible for the entire performance of their designed tank across all shifts. They ensure that production objectives are met on time and within quality, safety, and environmental guidelines. This role will promote a customer centric culture that is based on a positive philosophy of Celebrating Success, whilst being responsible for the development and management of people to ensure a high performing and continuous improvement in a way of life.
Other responsibilities for this role include, but not limited to:
- Ensuring a safe work environment with prompt action to address any identified risks.
- Communicating the direction, vision and expectations to all employees, especially those under direct line of reporting;
- Being responsible for the effectiveness of daily stand-up meetings and communication boards, as well as ensuring the relevance and accuracy of data;
- Continuous improvement projects to meet and outperform productivity targets;
- Facilitating and working with relevant departments to achieve job development improvements;
- Working with the Engineering team to ensure downtime targets are met through effective preventative maintenance, recording and analysis of downtime for designed tank;
- Working with the Production Management team, Finished Products Manager, Forming and SQE to ensure quality meets the required standards, and customers are satisfied;
- Ensuring gap analysis conducted, training matrix and training plans are in place to ensure optimal skill levels.
Overall, the successful candidate will have proven leadership skills, who can engage, encourage and bring their colleagues along on the journey, as well as drive continuous improvement and cultural improvements. Furthermore, you must be results-driven, a fast-learner, an excellent problem-solver with strong interpersonal and oral/communication skills. You will have excellent attention to detail, with self-motivation and a strong desire to succeed, by always performing to the highest standards. Orora is also seeking someone who has a strong focus on safety, with the ability to organise and prioritise important and urgent functions.
