JOB DESCRIPTION

Austin Health is the major provider of tertiary health services, health professional education and research across 3 campuses in the northeast of Melbourne and state-wide. Austin Health is world-renowned for its research and specialist work in cancer, liver transplantation, spinal cord injuries, neurology, endocrinology, mental health and rehabilitation.


An exciting opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic Contract Administrator with 2-3 years experience in the construction industry to join our Capital Works project delivery team.


Details of position/position requirements


To be successful in this role you must demonstrate strong communication skills, proven experience with a building contractor working on technically difficult health projects in large metropolitan hospitals, an understanding of infrastructure, ability to read and interpret architectural and services drawings, and excellent organisational skills. You must be willing and able to work as part of a multi skilled team in a fast paced environment working on multiple projects and supporting multiple delivery project managers at any time.


The position also offers opportunities to manage small projects autonomously, with career progression to a Project Management position within the team.


Ability to use Sketchup and Autocad software a definite advantage. Applicants with a trade background with project management or supervision experience will be considered favourably. Cert IV in Building and Construction (Contract Administration) is a minimum requirement for this position.
