Appointment Pool

Leeming Senior High School (SHS) are seeking to establish a pool of Physical Education Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2021 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2021 school year.

Suitable applicants will be highly effective in engaging and motivating students and managing an appropriate learning environment. They would also possess superior interpersonal skills and work closely with students, teachers and the community to achieve the best educational outcomes for our students. The role will require excellent organisational skills in the planning and running of sports carnivals and sporting events as well as curriculum delivery across Year 7 to Year 12. It is desirable that suitable applicants hold a current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment as well as industry currency to deliver Certificate II courses, in addition to Outdoor Education in both upper and lower school contexts. A current WA Bus Licence and Bronze Medallion qualification is also advantageous as is the ability to teach Health Studies courses.

Suitable applicants would work as part of a dedicated team to develop, review and deliver Physical and Health Education curriculum. They would have strong teaching and classroom management skills, and will be able to develop strong relationships with all students and engage them in effective learning. There is a whole school focus on data analysis and evidence based planning to improve results for all students.

Applicants would ideally possess a sound understanding of the developmental needs of students at all phases of the Western Australian Curriculum and will be skilled in differentiating the curriculum to meet the academic needs of all students.

It is desirable that applicants can develop a supportive and positive classroom environment, possess effective interpersonal skills and be able to work collaboratively in a team environment. The suitable applicant will have proven skills in behaviour management, evidence-based pedagogy and curriculum expertise. They will have a commitment to inclusive education and a strategic approach in planning for improved student outcomes.
