The Role:
As a solar CSP professional you will provide technical support to a wide variety of stakeholders including developers, original equipment manufacturers, regulators and financing institutions. The role is varied in its nature and will include working on a range of international renewable projects providing:
- Technical advisory/due diligence for lenders, developers and investors;
- Construction monitoring and operation monitoring on behalf of the Lenders
- Owner's engineering services;
- Feasibility studies and concept design
Responsibilities:
The Solar CSP Consultant / Engineer will provide technical inputs to the CSP consultancy (owner’s/lender’s technical advisor) projects for clients and will also act as Liaison leading the coordination between our Australian Team, and the Teams in our Madrid office, London office, Santiago office and Shanghai office. This includes coordination of internal PGTK, and external resource where needed, deliverable review and acceptance, budget and time adherence, client liaison, and internal reporting on solar CSP projects. The role will also involve the preparation of bids for new work.
The CSP Engineer / Consultant is ideally an engineer or other technically educated professional conversant in solar CSP technologies and market conditions, such that in this client facing role is able to guide technical discussions and make recommendations.
As part of our global team you will be responsible for:
· Supporting major solar CSP project developments internationally;
· Providing technical input from initial assessment through to technical and economic feasibility, due diligence, construction monitoring, acceptance and operation monitoring;
· Reviewing and preparing technical and non-technical reports to a high standard including specifications, due diligence reports, and proposals;
· Providing technical tender support;
· Attending client and site visits as required;
· Reviewing and preparing technical specification and design drawings;
· Working effectively on several projects concurrently to deliver to tight deadlines;
· Support and mentor the graduate engineers on CSP technologies;
· You may also be required to work on Solar PV projects.
Candidate Specification
Essential Criteria
· Degree level qualifications in engineering or similar technical subject;
· Demonstrable experience in the delivery of solar CSP projects, either as developer or consultant;
· Minimum of around 7 to 10 years of experience
· Evidence of technical competence, self-motivation, flexibility, problem solving approach;
· Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary engineering environment;
· Ability to communicate clearly & concisely in English, both verbally & written and ability to explain technical issues to non-engineers, including Clients;
· Excellent IT skills particularly MS Excel/Word/Project and PowerPoint.
· Willingness to be expatriate to Australia
Desirable criteria
· Experience in consultancy environment, and in a client facing role.
· Experience with project financing and/or interaction with lenders.
· Experience of Solar PV projects
· Ability to work in a second language.
· Willingness to travel both locally and globally.
· Recognised Project Management training.
