The Role

We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join the Group Risk Information Delivery (GRID) team within Risk Metrics and Measurement at ANZ. This is an exciting role with direct influence on the successful outcomes of some impactful programs of work for the bank.

The candidate will be the primary data engineer working on a project to implement role-based access control (RBAC) across a suite of data warehouse and BI applications

The Data Engineer will use their experience to help design and implement the strategic RBAC framework for a key ANZ data asset. This will include profiling, analysing and sourcing new data sets; creating and maintaining stored procedures and scripts; working with stakeholders and other team members to develop technical requirements

What might a day in the life look like?

  • Contribute to design data structures for data ingestion, integration and analytics layers on a variety of technologies
  • Work with other DEs within the squad and broader tribe to deliver Features / epics as prioritised by the squad and LT.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to incorporate feedback into data models
  • Build automated data governance procedures that help improve quality and reduce manual intervention

What will be in your toolkit?

  • Significant experience within Data Engineering and Data Warehousing using SQL Server (2017)
  • Experience working within a CI/CD (DataOps) environment
  • Experience working with BI Visualisations tools (QlikSense or similar)
  • Critical thinking - ability to investigate and develop solutions that consider a wide range of factors Innovation and problem solving skills
  • Communication and presentation skills
  • Business Analysis skills
  • Experience implementing UAM or role-based access frameworks would be an advantage
  • A culture of contribution to deliver solutions that maximise utility, reuse and scalability and align with others.
