The opportunity

We are looking for a Senior User Experience Designer to join our Personal Lines team focusing on our Home, Motor and CTP insurance experience.

In this newly created role, you will lead the User Experience design for Personal Lines Digital. As part of a newly built a cross-functional agile team (marketing, digital product owners, analytics and technology), you will focus on the digital experience and be responsible for driving a simpler and more customer centric experience for QBE’s customers.

What will your day look like?

  • Working with an empowered and enabled team who are passionate about customer experience and digital
  • Collaborate with product owners and technology team members to develop our product backlog
  • Work on individual customer stories ensuring the customer is at the heart of everything we do
  • Perform customer research and customer testing on features
  • Design wireframes and prototypes for testing and development
  • Organise or contribute to elaboration and ideation sessions

This role reports directly to the Head of Digital so you will have the support and impact on both the day to day customer outcomes and the overarching strategy.

Your story so far

  • Extensive experience leading UX Design within an agile delivery environment, specifically bespoke application design for complex products
  • Insurance experience is not required but you must have a passion for learning and will take the time to understand insurance customers and their motivations, needs and wants
  • Experience in user testing and a willingness to think laterally to ensure regular feature level testing occurs
  • Strong understanding of behavioural economics and how design influences customer decision making
  • Good understanding of Agile delivery and ways of working
  • Knowledge of design software such as Creative Cloud, Sketch and other wireframe/design related tools.
  • Working knowledge of web-technologies (HTML 5, CSS 3.0, JavaScript, mobile/responsive design) and standards (knowledge of WCAG 2.0 compliance desirable)
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, Slack and other collaboration /issue tracking software
  • Strong influencing, collaboration and stakeholder management skills
