Grange Resources is Australia’s most experienced magnetite producer from its iron ore mining and pellet production business located in North-West Tasmania.

The Savage River magnetite iron ore mine is a long-life mining asset where ore is mined and processed before it is transported by pipeline to the pellet plant and ship loading facility at Port Latta.


We are seeking a Graduate Environmental Officer to support our highly qualified HSE Team. In this role, the successful incumbent will provide environmental support to our operations, ensure compliance with licence conditions, and assist in mitigating any adverse impacts on environments.


Key responsibilities for the role will include but not be limited to:

  • Undertake environmental monitoring and reporting, including air quality, water quality, greenhouse and energy reporting, hydrocarbon and weed management.
  • Assisting with coordination and implementation measures and improvements in site environmental performance, to minimise environmental impacts
  • Working closely with operational teams to encourage and promote a culture of environmental improvement and awareness


To be successful in this role, you will require the following:

  • Tertiary qualification in Environmental Engineering or Science or a related discipline
  • A good understanding of environmental management
  • Sound critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and manage multiple stakeholders
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to establish and maintain effective communication channels
  • A current full manual drivers’ licence


The following would be desirable but not essential:

Knowledge of chemistry, water chemistry, AMD, geology, geochemistry, mining issues, air quality/emissions and natural values
