The Opportunity

We have an opportunity for a Content Designer to join the Department of Primary Industries and Regions. The role reports to the Senior Digital Communications Adviser.

The Content Designer uses their expertise to better understand how users interact within information on digital platforms and designs digital content based on data insights, user behaviour and website best-practice. The role is required to apply their expertise in content design to meet digital service standards and provide users with the information they need, at the time its needed and in the format they expect.

The role contributes to the agency’s priorities and objectives by ensuring information and services are accessible, searchable and easy to interact with. The Content Designer is expected to have strong project leadership, planning and organisational skills, problem-solving skills and an ability to use good judgement and expertise under limited guidance. Exceptional skills and experience are required in digital user experience, including undertaking user research and using data to inform digital content, writing, editing and proofreading for digital channels, as well as an expertise in web publishing and content management systems.

The position works closely with the broader Communication and Digital Services Unit and Senior Digital Communications Adviser to deliver best practice digital communications.
